Harry & David's parent company sees transition at top
The parent company of Harry & David said today its founder, Chairman and CEO Jim McCann, will transition to the role of executive chairman with his brother, President Chris McCann, adding the title of chief executive officer for 1-800-Flowers.com.
Chris McCann's responsibilities will expand to overseeing operational and organization processes, including the development and execution of annual and longer-term operating and financial plans.
Moving into the executive chairman role, Jim McCann, 64, will evaluate and develop managers, oversee mergers and acquisitions, business development and long-term strategic planning.
"Chris has been steering our company’s day-to-day operations as president since 2000," Jim McCann said in a statement. "Working closely with Chris, I know there is no one better equipped to spearhead the continued growth and innovation of our company.”
Chris McCann, 54, joined 1-800-Flowers in 1984. He has led operations across all of its brands and businesses, including its initiatives in e-commerce, as well as social media and mobile commerce.
