Wine Experience tickets now on sale

JACKSONVILLE — Tickets are now on sale for the Oregon Wine Experience, Aug. 22-28, on the Bigham Knoll campus.

Produced by Asante Foundation and Southern Oregon wine industry, the region's nationally acclaimed vino is celebrated over the course of a week.

Event offerings include the Oregon Wine Competition followed by a medal celebration, wine related classes, intimate vintner dinners, a barrel auction, the Miracle Auction & Salmon Bake and the Grand Tasting.

The event attracted more than 2,100 visitors and 50 participating wineries in 2015, raising more than a half-million dollars for Asante Children's Miracle Network and other health care programs. For event information, go to

Mac Users Group focuses on Photos app

ASHLAND —  Macintosh consultant Nick Viani will discuss the Photos app for the Apple computer and iOS devices at the monthly Ashland Mac Users Group, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday April 12 at Asante Ashland Community Hospital, 280 Maple St.

Dermatology group adds location, doctors

Silver Falls Dermatology has added a second location and two doctors in Medford. Dermatologists Brandon Markus will offer Mohs surgery at the 1910 E. Barnett Road, Suite 101, office. Long-time Medford dermatologist Jennifer Childers will blend alternative therapies and traditional medicine at Silver Falls Dermatology's second Medford office, 935 Town Centre Drive, Suite A in Medford.

Silver Falls Dermatology was founded by dermatologist John Young in 2006 and has grown to 15 locations in Oregon, Washington and New Mexico. Its first Medford location opened in November 2015 on Barnett Road.

SOU leadership program accepting applications

Southern Oregon University's Innovation and Leadership program is accepting applications for its next set of students.

INL classes, accelerated to meet the needs of working professionals, are scheduled in five-week modules, meeting one night per week at SOU’s Higher Education Center in Medford. Classes for the upcoming cohort are scheduled to begin this summer.

Courses offered this summer include Organizational Leadership as well as International Business, which will focus on the history, trade and commerce of chocolate.

INL is a degree completion program designed for people with some college experience and at least five years of work experience beyond the entry level.
