Ashland Co-op celebrates 45th anniversary
The Ashland Food Coop is celebrating 45 years of doing business in the Rogue Valley.
The Co-op has a long history of bringing healthy, organic food to the community. What started as a buying club in 1972 has grown into a well-respected, deeply loved full-service cooperative grocery with more than 10,000 owners.
To mark the occasion, the Co-op is celebrating with a family friendly, community party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, next door in the Umpqua Bank parking lot.
The afternoon will feature live music from 33 String Drive and the Creekside Strings, craft beer and lemonade from Standing Stone Brewing Company, food from Peruvian Point, kids activities with Rogue Valley Farm to School, a raffle for a Vitamix and Oregon Shakespeare Festival tickets, and more than $1,500 in prizes.
“Ashland Food Co-op is part of the colorful fabric of our diverse community,” says marketing manager Annie Hoy. “Since our beginning, we have nurtured families, farmers and local vendors to create an economy with heart.”
Additionally in this anniversary year, the Ashland Food Co-op introduced their new logo. Later this fall, they will unveil a new website.
