Credit union closing Medford branch

Eugene-based Northwest Community Credit Union said Tuesday it is closing two branch offices, including one in Medford.

Northwest's Community's South Medford location at 1361 Center Drive, will shutter at 6 p.m., Friday, March 16, as will the North Roseburg branch.

Medford customers will be served at the remaining Medford branch at 2079 Cardinal Ave.

Northwest Community Credit Union Chief Operating Officer Melissa Vigil said the branches failed to meet expectations.

“Growth is something we track closely, because it helps us consider fresh opportunities for expansion that are beneficial for our members,” Vigil said in a statement. "In the near term, we have plans for another couple of locations (in other regions.)"

All 10 employees from the closing branches have been offered positions at the existing Roseburg and Medford branches.

Northwest Community has membership of more than 113,000 in 13 Oregon cities and assets of more than $1 billion.
