Raiders get blanked by Cal Baptist

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Southern Oregon University tennis team was swept 9-0 at the hand of No. 18 California Baptist on Sunday to cap its three-day trip in Southern California.

The Raiders (7-2) earned wins over Biola University and The Masters College on Thursday and Friday before falling to the Lancers (9-5) in near 90-degree weather.

The No. 1 doubles match was the closest the Raiders came to a win on the day, when Katie Ross and Iuliia Efunia came up short to the Lancers' Dunya Wren and Marcela Montanha, 8-6.

In singles, fifth-seeded Erin Bruni fell to Cal Baptist's Kendra Faulkner, 7-6, 6-3.

The Raiders will continue play April 13-14 when they travel to San Rafael and Oakland, Calif. to take on Dominican University and Mills College, respectively.
