ASHLAND — Southern Oregon softball coach Kim Fritts has announced the signing of Sarah Lawrence, a standout pitcher hailing from San Ramon, Calif., as one of the first to join her first recruiting class.
Lawrence will be an immediate impact on the Raiders as a pitcher after a standout high school and club career, according to Fritts.
Lawrence has been the starting pitcher all four years for her high school, earning numerous awards and honors. She began her senior season in strong force, leading her team to a first-place finish at the Queen of the Mountain tournament in Concord, Calif., in late March. Lawrence pitched a shutout in all four games, and was dubbed MVP of the tourney as well as the distinction of best pitcher. A foot injury, however, has ended Lawrence's high school career early.
