Dunn races to two victories at Willamette meet
SALEM — Southern Oregon University senior sprinter Emily Dunn put together one of her better performances of the season at the Willamette Mini-Meet Saturday.
The former North Medford High track standout posted victories in the 100 and 200 meters at the seven-school event. Dunn won the 100 with a time of 12.50 seconds and came back with a mark of 26.17 in the 200.
"Emily was ready to run fast and today she did," Southern Oregon coach Mike Jones said.
Mary Converse added two more victories for the Raider women. Converse won the high jump at 4-113/4 and the 400 intermediate hurdles at 1:09.53.
The Raiders had three men — Trevor Palmer, Cameron Kreuz and Daniel Cecchini — hit NAIA national meet provisional qualifying marks.
Other top Raider performances came from Anthony Taylor, who won the long jump (20-10) and finished second in the triple jump (42-81/4), and Kevin Jeffers, who won the 1,500 (4:00.25).
"Overall, I was pleased with our performance," said Jones, "especially the provisional qualifiers."
