OSU guard named to all-America team
CORVALLIS — Oregon State senior offensive guard Roy Schuening has been named to the inaugural Pro Football Weekly Collegiate All-America First Team.
Schuening will start his 50th straight game — an OSU record — on Dec. 28 when the Beavers play the Maryland Terrapins in the sixth annual Emerald Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Schuening also is expected to play in the Hula Bowl and East-West Shrine Game, and was recently selected to the 2007 Pac-10 Conference First Team.
Schuening will leave Oregon State playing in three bowl games in four years and in some of its biggest victories, including wins over then No. 2 California this season and then No. 3 USC in 2006.
