Raiders advance to title match
CALDWELL, Idaho — Chelsea Hartman and Leanne Stennett helped 13th-ranked Southern Oregon down Eastern Oregon, 17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19, during Friday's semifinal match of the Cascade Conference tournament.
Southern Oregon improved to 24-2 on the season and will face College of Idaho in today's final.
Hartman finished with 15 kills and Stennett had 13 kills to go with 19 digs. Becky Johnstone had a match-high 31 digs.
In the second set, a service error and kills by Sarah Holgen and Hartman broke an 18-18 as the Raiders scored the final eight points of the set.
In the third set, Eastern led 13-10 before SOU went on a 10-3 run to take control of the set.
SOU wrapped up the match by holding Eastern Oregon to a .095 attack percentage in the final set.
Megan Bartling and Holgen both had seven kills for the Raiders. Heather Porter had a hand in 10 blocks, while Bartling and Holgen each had six.
Caryn Westrick had 23 assists and Angela Spieker finished with 20 assists.
Eastern Oregon was led by Jessica Lea's match-high 17 kills.
