Raiders' winning streak reaches 41 seasons
ASHLAND — Southern Oregon clinched its 41st straight winning dual-meet wrestling season with a 46-6 rout of Pacific Saturday at McNeal Pavilion.
The 11th-ranked Raiders improved to 8-4. Pacific is 0-10.
SOU's winning streak stretches to 1970-71, when legendary coach Bob Riehm led the Raiders to an 11-2 record. During the skein, the Raiders are 398-131-2 in duals.
Southern Oregon benefitted from three Pacific forfeits to start the match with an 18-0 lead.
It was pushed to 24-0 when sophomore Jimmy Eggemeyer pinned Devin Silva in 2:28 at 149 pounds.
After a decision by SOU's Dalton Urrutia at 157, Pacific posted its lone win with a fall.
Third-ranked Austin Vanderford got the Raiders rolling again at 174. He bolted to a 10-1 lead before scoring a fall in 3:24.
Tenth-ranked Derek Rottenberg (184) of the Raiders followed with a pin in 1:25.

EASTERN OREGON 95, SOU 53 — At La Grande, No. 11 Eastern Oregon put together two first-half runs and cruised to the Cascade Conference win.
Jamar Johnson had 30 points for the Mountaineers (16-3, 8-2 CC) on 10-for-11 shooting, including 4-for-4 from the 3-point line.
Austin Wolfer led the Raiders (12-8, 5-3) with 14 points to go with five rebounds.
The Raiders opened a 4-0 lead, then Eastern scored the next 15 points. After a Wolfer jumper, the Mountaineers went on another run, scoring 16 straight points to make it 31-6 with 8:59 to play in the first half.
EASTERN OREGON 69, SOU 35 — At La Grande, Southern Oregon was held to 12 first-half points in the Cascade Conference game.
Rosebud Guthrie had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Mountaineers (13-7, 5-6 CC).
Alexi Smith scored 11 points for SOU (13-10, 6-5).
Eastern Oregon jumped out to a 13-0 lead to start the game and wasn't threatened.
The Mountaineers led 30-12 at halftime. The Raiders shot 17 percent in the first half and went 0-for-8 on 3-pointers.
