Biola blanks Raiders, 2-0
LA MIRADA, Calif. — The Southern Oregon University attack was bottled up again Wednesday night as the Biola women’s soccer team limited the Raiders to three shots on goal in a 2-0 win at Al Barbour Field.
The Raiders (1-5), losers of five straight, kept Biola (4-0) scoreless through the first half, too. But just 28 seconds into the second, Taylor Venegas took Amanda Lillicrop’s cross and zinged it from straight on to the top-left corner of the goal.
Ashley Ramirez tacked on the second Biola goal in the 74th minute. Amanda Otto assisted.
Biola, which has conceded two goals in four games, maintained an 18-9 advantage in shots and put eight on goal. Marina Rodriguez was credited with her second shutout of the season.
SOU will wrap up its three-game road trip when it plays No. 5 Concordia (Calif.), its fourth ranked opponent of nonleague play, at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
