Butler cruises to lopsided triumph

INDIANAPOLIS — Roosevelt Jones scored 14 of his 19 points in the first half, and No. 15 Butler beat Kennesaw State 93-51 on Monday night.

Kelan Martin had 17 points and Kellen Dunham added 13 for the Bulldogs (8-2), who have won four straight games. Jones finished with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Yonel Brown had 14 points for the Owls (3-7), who have lost three in a row. Delbert Love and Orlando Coleman each scored 11.

Butler was 16 of 25 from the field in the first half and led 52-27 at the break.

NO. 20 MIAMI 70, SAVANNAH STATE 39: At Coral Gables, Fla., Angel Rodriguez scored 17 points, leading Miami to the runaway win.

The Hurricanes (9-1) shot 51.2 percent and never trailed in their first game since a 68-55 home loss to Green Bay on Saturday.

Miami began the second half with a 12-2 spurt to open a 46-25 lead. Manu Lecomte capped the run with a three-point play with 13:21 remaining.

Lecomte and Sheldon McClellan each scored 15 points for the Hurricanes.

Demarcus Bryant led the Tigers (3-7) with nine points.
