Mustangs sweep Grants Pass
The Medford Mustangs baseball team swept Grants Pass to wrap up their American Legion AAA regular-season schedule at Harry & David Field on Wednesday.
Medford won the opener, 4-0, and sealed the second triumph, 3-1.
In the opener, Cody Coggins allowed three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings to improve to 7-0 on the year.
In the third inning, Micah Brown hit a two-run double before Bryce Rogan pounded an RBI double. Cole Carder added a run-scoring triple in the sixth.
Brown finished 2-for-2.
In the second game, Tate Cowden hit a two-out triple to bring home Colton Westfall and Jared Evans added an RBI single in the second inning. Eric Carlson, who finished 2-for-3, added an RBI double in the fifth.
Winning pitcher Aaron Hutchinson improved to 7-0 after striking out five and walking one in six innings.
The Mustangs (33-11) finished Area 4 play with a 13-3 record, good for first place.

MEDFORD 9, KLAMATH FALLS 3: At Klamath Falls, Billy Fredrick was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs and Medford scored eight runs in the second inning during West Coast League action.
Dan Mayer hit a three-run double, Tim Lichty went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Nathan Etheridge and Daniel Patzlaff recorded two hits apiece for the Rogues (17-21).
Klamath Falls dropped to 7-31.
