Quast shines for Dominican University
Former Cascade Christian golfer Jake Quast was named freshman golfer of the year at Dominican University in San Rafael, Calif., and helped the Penguins' first-year class to the top spot in the GolfStat Freshman Class Impact Ranking for NCAA Division II.
Quast and teammates Brandon Brame and Nick Rivera gave Dominican a relative strength of 500.452. They combined to average 74.64 per round.
Quast helped the Penguins to third place at the PacWest Championships and competed at the South Central/West Regionals, where Dominican finished its season in 12th place.
Quast placed second in the Class 3A/2A/1A state tournament last year, helping the Challengers to their first state championship.
