Raiders fall against Hope
FULLERTON, Calif. — The 18th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team was sluggish early Tuesday and failed to recover in a four-set loss at Hope International by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18 at Darling Pavilion.
Similar to their first loss at Montana Tech, unforced errors were costly again for the Raiders (3-2 overall). They committed 45 unforced errors, including 33 on the attack, and hit at clips of .062 in the first set and .083 in the second.
Lauren McGowne assisted 44 of SOU's 51 kills and had nine digs, Nila Lukens put down a career-high 14 kills on 31 attacks and Kiley Barcroft collected 21 digs.
Three players hit double digits in kills for the Lions (2-1): Mikayla Derieg (14), Katie Landazuri (13) and Kimberly Schnars (12). They hit .193 as a team to SOU's .116.
The meeting was the first between the teams in eight years.
