SOU downs Warner Pacific in quarterfinals
ASHLAND — The The 10th-ranked Southern Oregon University women's basketball team beat Warner Pacific, 99-80, in the Cascade Conference Championships quarterfinals at Mountain Avenue Gym on Tuesday.
Remi Mejia had 26 points, four rebounds and five steals and Ariel Augustine added 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders, who are 26-3 overall and finished 17-3 in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed in the eight-team CCC tournament.
SOU led 48-34 at halftime after trailing 26-24 entering the second quarter against No. 7 seed Warner Pacific (12-19, 8-12).
Toria Bradford added nine points and seven assists for the Raiders, who had a 20-5 advantage on the offensive glass.
Darbi Pink had 16 points, six assists and five steals for the Knights, who fought their way into the postseason by winning twice on the road over the weekend to end a six-game skid and force a three-way tie for seventh in the standings.
