OIT ends Raiders’ unbeaten run with 1-0 win

KLAMATH FALLS — Kyra Mull ended Southern Oregon’s shutout streak and first-place Oregon Tech ended the Raiders’ unbeaten streak, 1-0, while holding them to two shots Sunday afternoon in Cascade Conference play.

Mull stepped in front of an SOU pass and cashed in with an unassisted score in the 36th minute. It marked the first score surrendered by the Raiders (4-2-1, 4-2-1 CCC) since their first game of the season.

The Raiders were down a couple attackers and didn’t produce a shot on goal for the first time since 2013.

The Owls, last season’s CCC champions, improved to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play. They’ve turned in four straight shutouts.

Mull’s goal was her third of the season. SOU keeper Jessie Selby saved OIT’s three other on-target shots.

The teams will square off again at noon today.
