RCC wins second straight region volleyball crown
EUGENE – The Rogue Community College volleyball team captured its second Northwest Athletic Conference South Region title in as many years with a 26-24, 17-25, 25-20, 25-21 victory over Lane Community College Thursday.
The Ospreys, who have only had a program for two years, avenged an earlier loss to the Titans by using stout defense and a spread attack.
The Ospreys (11-3) handed Lane (16-1) its first loss of the season.
In its two years, RCC has accumulated 11 players of the week, two adidas NWAC athletes of the week, five first-team all-stars, two second-team all-stars, three academic excellence awards, five four-year signings and a coach of the year.
The Ospreys return to action in the fall.
