Sarraude sets RCC mark in playoff win

GRANTS PASS — Jhoel Sarraude scored four goals to set the single-season scoring record for the Rogue Community College men’s soccer team in a 5-2 win over Bellevue College in Wednesday’s Regional Round of the NWAC Playoffs.

Sarraude, who now has 20 goals this season, eclipsed the previous record of 19 set by Brandon Sauceda in 2016. Sarraude also moved into first place in the individual NWAC standings for total goals scored.

The Ospreys (9-2-2, 6-2-2) got things rolling in the 28th minute when Jonny McCoy broke free and hit a shot that was saved only to collect the ball and fire it into the net to go up 1-0.

Sarraude then scored his first goal of the match in the 38th minute off an assist by Ricardo Escobar and then scored just before the half following a setup by Hector Pinto-Perez to make it 3-0.

Sarraude scored again in the 48th minute off an assist by Randy Rodriguez before (6-8-3, 5-6-2) twice found the net. His final goal came in the 76th minute, with an assist to Rodriguez.
