Barry places 19th in Pac-10 tournament
TEMPE, Ariz. — Mike Barry placed 19th in the Pac-10 Conference golf championships Wednesday, shooting a final-round 72 and completing the four-round event at Karsten Golf Course at 3 under par.
Barry, a senior from Medford, helped the fifth-place Beavers to a 13-under score of 1,407. Washington won at 1,383, while Oregon tied California for sixth place at 1,409.
Barry had three bogeys and two birdies on the par-71 layout. His other three rounds in the three-day event were 74, 66 and 69.
Barry finished second on the OSU team behind No. 1 player Diego Velasquez, who tied for 16th at 4 under for the tourney. He shot a 69 in the final round.
Oregon was paced by Daniel Miernicki, who tied for sixth at 10 under.
The Beavers and Ducks will now await their postseason destination when NCAA regional bids are announced on Monday. Regionals will take place in six locations, starting May 20. The NCAA finals are June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.
