Aaron Ghiglieri of Central Point captured a win and finished fourth in three other races at the Northwest Sectional Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash., this past weekend.

The 13-year-old took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.8 seconds. He was fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.65), 100 butterfly (57.2) and 100 freestyle.

In the event featuring about 1,200 competitors from seven states, Ghiglieri also set a personal-best mark of 2:07.01 in the 200 individual medley, good for fifth place. He was also fifth in the 200 fly (2:13.09).


Nick Brickley rolled his second 300 game of the year in the Moss Adams Men's Commercial League on Friday at Roxy Ann Lanes.


Jary Kapus rolled 11 strikes in a row for a 290 game on March 16 in the GoodSports League at Lava Lanes.
