A graveside service for Frank Roelandt is scheduled for this Friday at 1 p.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Cemetery in Medford. Friends and family are also invited to attend a no-host reception immediately following the service at the banquet room of the New Far East Restaurant on the corner of 4th and Front streets.
Roelandt, the influential coach and teacher at Medford High School, died in Canby on May 13 at the age of 84.
He coached Medford High boys basketball for 29 years, leading the Black Tornado to the 1960 state title and to 19 state tournaments.
He also spent 35 seasons at the school as an assistant baseball and football coach as well as a physical education teacher.
Roelandt was inducted into the Medford Sports Hall of Fame in 1985.
