Quarterback Nate Ellis accounted for three touchdowns Saturday as the Southern Oregon Renegades amateur football team routed Yakima, Wash., 42-0 at Spiegelberg Stadium.

Ellis scored on runs of 12 and 25 yards and completed a 19-yard TD pass to Titan Mann. Ellis was 4-for-11 passing. He ran three times for 44 yards.

Alvin Thornton had 19 carries for 175 yards and punched in a 2-yard TD in the third. The Renegades rolled up 307 yards on the ground on 31 attempts.

Mann added a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter, and Gary Colbert scored on his lone carry of the game — a 19-yarder in the fourth quarter.

The Renegades have given up just two yards of offense in the past five games and have outscored opponents, 185-12. They held Yakima to minus 3 yards.

The Renegades host the Portland Blackshirts at 6 p.m. at Spiegelberg Stadium on Saturday.

An 8.0-level team from the Rogue Valley Swim and Tennis Club won its division Sunday in the USTA/Pacific Northwest Adult League Mixed Doubles Sectionals at Sunriver.

The team of Bill and Martha Kelly, Don Zizic, Teresa Longmire, Dan Perone and Sue McCandless qualified for nationals Nov. 21-22 in Tucson, Ariz.
