CANYONVILLE — Central Point boxer Mike Wilson beat Harry Gopaul by unanimous decision 40-36 on all cards at Seven Feathers Casino Resort on Saturday to remain undefeated.

The former two-time amateur super heavyweight champion and 2004 U.S. Olympic alternate competed in a four-round cruiserweight special attraction that night. Fighting with a bruised right hand, he improved his professional record to 7-0.

In May, Wilson captured a four-round majority decision over Joseph Rabotte in Lincoln, R.I.

He is resuming his pro career as a cruiserweight after a 21/2-year layoff in which he had only one fight.

ASHLAND — Southern Oregon University fall season ticket packages are now available for purchase through the SOU Athletics website.

Volleyball begins the schedule with the Paul Elliott Invitational Aug. 17-18, and season tickets for SOU volleyball cost $60 for general admission and $100 for reserved seating. The Raiders will host at least 15 home matches in 2012, including the season-opening tournament and a pair of home dates to be played at Ashland High School during the last two weeks of August. Season tickets include admission to all home volleyball matches at both Bob Riehm Arena and AHS.

The first Medford Kickoff Classic will serve as the SOU football opener, with the contest set for Sept. 1 against Montana-Western at Medford's Spiegelberg Stadium. After posting a perfect 5-0 home record last season for the first time in almost 15 years, the Raiders enter the Frontier Conference for 2012 with games against rival Eastern Oregon and perennial national power Carroll. Football season tickets are $40 and include admission to all five home games in 2012.

The Raiders lowered single-game ticket prices for football this season, with general admission tickets dropping 33 percent to $10. Seniors get in for $5 and kids under 12 are free for the second straight year. Volleyball single-match tickets are $6 for general admission and $9 for reserved seating, with $3 admission for seniors and kids 6-12. Single-match soccer tickets will be $4 for general admission and $2 for seniors and kids. The SOU soccer team opens the season Aug. 23 with a 2 p.m. home match against Trinity Lutheran.
