High school football season tickets are or soon will be on sale at local schools, and those interested in purchasing them should call their respective schools.

In some cases, as with North Medford and South Medford, tickets will go on sale first to current season ticket holders, then to the general public. They also are available online, respectively, at www.northmedfordtickets.com and www.southmedfordtickets.com.

Fall practice for high schools begins Monday, and the first football games are Aug. 31.

Rogue River's Kevin Murphy tied for second place Sunday in the Oregon Golf Association Men's Stroke Play Championship at Emerald Valley Golf Course in Creswell.

Murphy was 2 over par for the three-day tournament, shooting a 218. He finished one stroke behind Michael Johansen of Vancouver, Wash., and tied with Nicholas Chianello of Gresham.

The 18-year-old Murphy opened with a 1-under 71, then followed with rounds of 75 and a 72.
