Wu tied for 39th in junior event
GRANITEVILLE, S.C. — Dylan Wu of Medford shot an 8-over-par 80 in Round 2 of the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club Saturday, dropping him to a tie for 39th place in the three-day event.
Wu's total of 11-over 155 has him tied with four others.
Wu shot 38 on the front nine, with a double bogey on the first hole, and made two double bogeys and two bogeys on the back.
He's 2 over on the front nine through two rounds and 9 over on the back.
There are 54 players in the select field. Wu is a junior at St. Mary's.
Sam Horsfield of Davenport, Fla., continues to lead. He shot a 71 and is 5 under. Kristoffer Ventura of Norway, with a 70, is two shots back.
RENEGADES FALL SHORT — At Bremerton, Wash., the Southern Oregon Renegades semi-professional football team owned the lead at halftime, but couldn't hang on in a 15-13 loss to the Kitsap County Bears in Pacific Football League action Saturday.
The Renegades (1-2) led 13-7 at the break.
Southern Oregon next hosts the Yakima Mavericks at 6 p.m. Saturday at Spiegelberg Stadium.
