Rogues heat up late in win

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — The Medford Rogues erupted for five runs in the ninth inning en route to a 9-3 win over Marysville during Great West League action on Sunday night.

Connor Lowrie was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Derron Davis 3-for-5 with two runs for Medford (38-15), which led 4-3 before the ninth.

Jaden Hanna went 2-for-3, Robby Teel 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs and Brock Pradere 2-for-5.

Winning pitcher Parker Kelly allowed five hits, three runs and four walks with a strikeout in six innings against Marysville (26-28). Trenton Stoltz gave up one hit, zero runs and two walks with six Ks in three innings of relief for the save.

American Legion A

UTAH 8, NORTH MEDFORD 3: At Laurel, Mont., the North Medford Mavericks’ season came to an end after falling in the American Legion A Northwest Regional elimination game to Grantsville, Utah.

Wyatt Baptiste was 3-for-4 with a run, Justin Geyer 3-for-5 with an RBI and run and Brandon King 3-for-5 for the Mavericks (33-25).

Utah took the lead for good in the fifth inning.

ASA Softball

10B WESTERN NATIONAL: Rancho Trabuco Xplosion of Coto de Caza, California, outlasted powerhouse Placentia/Yorba Linda Gold All-Stars, 18-15 in 12 innings, to claim the ASA U10B Western National tournament championship in one of the longest title games in Amateur Softball Association history at U.S. Cellular Community Park.

Rancho Trabuco, which placed fifth at the Southern California ASA association tournament, captured the Orange County club program’s first-ever national championship by plating four runs in the top of the 12th inning and quelling PYL Gold, the Southern Cal champions, in the bottom half of the seventh tiebreaker inning in a wild, back-and-forth fray.
