Trenchard, Braaten winners at Haudenshild Tribute
WHITE CITY — Nick Trenchard picked up his second Roger Haudenshild Tribute win in the IMCA Modified division Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway.
Trenchard dominated the 25-lap feature for the $1,200 victory in much the same way that he won the John Arnberg Memorial last week in Yreka, California. He caught lapped traffic and played it safe late as he had a big advantage over second-place finisher Albert Gill.
The race ran caution-flag free, and Jesse Bailey won the $100 Crack The Whip race and finished third in the main event ahead of trophy dash winner Monte Bischoff and Mark Wauge.
Two-time track champion Jorddon Braaten won the 20-lap IMCA Sport modified main event for the $800 prize. Braaten set a rapid pace and won by a straightaway ahead of reigning track champion Mike Medel. Jimmy Lipke, Willie McFall and Rich McCoy rounded out the Top 5.
Reigning SODCA Dwarf Car champion Brock Peters won his first 20-lap main event of the season and Scott Lenz collected the $800 prize for his victory in the 15-lap pro stock main event.
