Spartans earn third straight win

Alex Low and Logan Emery scored two goals apiece and the Southern Oregon Spartans cruised to their third win in a row, 8-0, over the West Sound Admirals in Western States Hockey League action Friday at The RRRink.

After a scoreless first period, Emery scored unassisted 25 seconds into the second and Nolan Parrish connected off an assist by Jan Sokolik with 5:40 to go in the period to give Southern Oregon (12-25) a 2-0 lead heading into the final frame.

There, the Spartans blew the game open by tacking on three more goals over the next 10 minutes, including another unassisted strike by Emery.

Spartans goalie Kayden Pickles only needed to make 11 saves, as Southern Oregon dominated in shots on goal, 49-11.

Erich Marschall and Hayden Moistner added two assists apiece for the Spartans.
