Rogues keep streak alive

Chris D'Amico pitched a complete game gem, Travis Danielson had two doubles and the Medford Rogues continued their perfect start to the 2019 season with a 4-1 victory over the San Francisco Seagulls Sunday at Harry & David Field.

D'Amico held the Seagulls to one run on six hits and scoreless from the second inning on to help Medford improve to 10-0.

Danielson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Peter Mendazona was 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

San Francisco starter Kyle Basch was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs, three earned, in six innings. The Seagulls fell to 4-4.

MEDFORD 11, LAKERIDGE 6: Ryan Sandoval had four hits, including two of Medford’s five doubles, and the Mustangs clawed their way back from a 5-1 deficit to beat Lakeridge Sunday at Harry & David Field.

Still down 5-4 after a three-run third, the Mustangs scored four runs in the fourth on five singles, including a bunt hit by Sandoval that scored Josh Baptiste.

Sandoval went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs, Bennett Smith 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Brady Buchanan 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored.

Also for the Mustangs (2-1), Baptiste went 3-for-5, Jeremiah Huffman was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and Evan McLennan 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.

Dylan Marsh started for Medford and picked up the win after surrendering six runs, five earned, on six hits in five innings before being relieved by Blake Sheilds. Marsh struck out six and walked three. Sheilds blanked Lakeridge over the last two innings on three hits while striking out two.
