BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Klamath Falls knocks off Mustangs
KLAMATH FALLS — The Klamath Falls Falcons scored three runs in the second inning and were never headed in a 4-3 American Legion baseball win over the Medford Mustangs at Kiger Stadium Tuesday.
Klamath Falls had five of its six hits in the second, including an RBI double by Hunter Schwenk.
Medford dropped to 19-9.
Chase Costanti went 3-for-4 for the Mustangs, while Darin Marsh was 2-for-3 with a run and Evan McLennan was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Steven Ledendecker added an RBI single.
Eli Westrick started and took the loss for Medford, going three innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four and walking one.
AJ Balsiger pitched three innings of one-hit, two-strikeout relief.

NORTH MEDFORD MAVERICKS 13, EAGLE POINT 2: Aiden Beckstead drove in three runs and Koda Passey rapped three hits as the North Medford Mavericks captured the five-inning American Legion contest at U.S. Cellular Community Park.
North Medford (9-7-1) scored five runs in the second inning to take control, then finished it after scoring four in the top of the fifth.
Kellen Thomey went the distance for North Medford, allowing two hits, striking out two and walking six.
Passey was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Beckstead, who didn’t have a hit, added a run scored. Aiden Horsley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Austin McLean drove in two runs and scored twice.
Frankie Rutigliano, who doubled, Cody Borraggine and Trey Newman each scored twice for the Mavericks.
