Mustangs roll to 9-2 win over Roseburg
The Medford Mustangs staked pitcher Cody Borraggine to an early lead, and he made it stand up with stellar pitching in a 9-2 American Legion AAA baseball victory over Roseburg Monday at U.S. Cellular Community Park.
Borragine hurled one-hit ball for six innings, striking out three and walking two before giving way to Tanner Douglas in the seventh. The only hit off Borraggine was a first-inning double by Dawson Gillespie.
The Mustangs (7-1) scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second to take control.
Medford began its half of the first with three walks and an error in its first four at-bats. An RBI double by Jace Miller and a two-run triple by Eli Westrick started the run parade.
Miller was the lone Mustang with more than one hit, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Zac Ankeny drove in two runs and scored twice, and Jeremiah Robbins added two RBIs.
