Jackson County goes 11 days without a new COVID-19 case

Jackson County reported no new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, the 11th straight day without a new case, keeping the county total at 49.

The last new case of the illness was reported April 24, public health officials said.

As of last week, 38 of the 49 patients were considered recovered.

Oregon reported four more deaths Tuesday, along with 72 new cases and eight new presumptive cases. The agency has started listing presumptive cases — in which patients weren’t tested but have symptoms of the illness and had close contact with a confirmed case — in its daily reports.

Oregon has reported 2,817 cases, with 22 presumptive cases, and 113 deaths.
