Sixth Jackson County resident dies from COVID-19
A 61-year-old man died at Rogue Regional Medical Center this week from COVID-19, the sixth death due to the illness reported in Jackson County.
The man tested positive for the disease Sept. 21 and died Sept. 28, according to Jackson County Public Health. He had underlying medical conditions, agency officials said.
The county reported 19 more cases of the disease Wednesday, pushing Jackson County’s total to 1,190 cases, including 176 people considered to be infectious.
The Oregon Health Authority reported 220 new cases of the disease statewide, and four more deaths, pushing the state’s total to 33,509 cases and 559 deaths.
