Jackson County reports 27 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday
Jackson County Public Health reported 27 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, the county’s highest daily number of new cases since the pandemic began in March.
The previous daily record, 24, was reported Aug. 18, according to Chad Petersen, county environmental health program manager.
The new cases bring Jackson County’s total 1,217 cases.
The Oregon Health Authority Thursday reported 363 new cases of the disease and one more death, a 44-year-old Klamath County man who tested positive Sept. 21 and died Sept. 30 at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls. He had underlying medical conditions.
Oregon’s death toll from COVID-19 is now 560, its case total rising to 33,862.
