15 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jackson County on Sunday

Jackson County reported 15 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 and one new fatality Sunday, raising local totals to 10,953 cases with 140 fatalities to date.

Oregon reported 507 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases and two new fatalities, bringing statewide totals to 195,684 cases with 2,587 fatalities since the pandemic started. A total of 339 people are hospitalized with the virus and 82 are in intensive care.

In the wake of an announcement by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention related to mask protocol for vaccinated individuals, Jackson County Public Health advised everyone should follow posted mask and physical distancing requirements in businesses until further notice.

The Oregon Health Authority reported 23,075 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered over the weekend, raising the number of fully vaccinated people to 1,470,984 and 2,061,755 people who have received at least one dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. The state reported a seven-day running average of 29,334 doses administered per day.
