Oregon reports seven more COVID-19 deaths Friday

The Oregon Health Authority reported seven more deaths from COVID-19 Friday, raising the state’s death toll from the illness to 2,613.

OHA reported 504 new COVID-19 cases, raising the state’s cumulative total to 197,851 cases since the pandemic began.

Jackson County reported 19 new cases Friday, raising the county’s cumulative total to 11,068.

Josephine County reported four new cases, raising the county’s total to 3,408.

On Friday, 285 Oregonians were hospitalized with COVID-19, 16 fewer than Thursday, with 78 patients in intensive care, one more than Thursday.

Twenty-two people were hospitalized with the disease in Jackson and Josephine counties Friday, one more than Thursday, with seven of those patients in ICU, two more than Thursday.

As of Friday, 1,685,321 Oregonians had completed their COVID-19 vaccine series, and 450,812 people had received one shot in a two-dose regimen.

In Jackson County, 73,345 people had completed their series, and 17,315 had received one of two doses.

In Josephine County, 26,627 residents had completed their series, and 4,568 had received one of two doses.
