State reports 167 new cases, 1 new fatality
Jackson County reported six new confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing the local total to 11,420 cases with 146 fatalities since the pandemic started.
The state reported 167 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases and one new fatality, raising statewide totals to 205,029 cases with 2,730 deaths to date. A total of 1,207 patients were hospitalized with the virus over the past week.
The Oregon Health Authority reported, 15,381 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered over the weekend. The state has registered 4,202,260 complete vaccinations. More than two-thirds (67.4%) of Oregon’s eligible adult population is vaccinated.
In Jackson County, 25,021 more people must obtain a vaccine to reach a 65% vaccinated population goal. Six counties in the state have passed the goal: Washington, Hood River, Multnomah, Lincoln, Deschutes and Benton.
