COVID-19 cases up 2% statewide, schools continue to see active outbreaks

Oregon Health Authority’s latest COVID-19 Weekly Report said there was a just over 2% increase in cases from the previous week.

OHA reported 7,877 new cases of COVID-19 during the week of Monday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 31.

The following K-12 grade schools in Jackson and Josephine counties saw recent cases:

Abraham Lincoln Elementary School (two students, no adults), Allen Dale Elementary School (two students, zero adults), Ashland Middle School (two students, zero adults), Ashland High School (one student, zero adults), Bellview Elementary School (one student, zero adults), Brighton Academy (two students, zero adults), Central Point Elementary (three students, one adult), Crater High School (five students, zero cases), Eagle Point High School (11 students, zero adults), Eagle Point Middle School (one student, one adult), Fort Vannoy Elementary School (one student, zero adults)

In Jackson County, the following care facilities, senior living communities and congregate living settings were experiencing active cases: Avamere Health Services of Rogue Valley (19 cases, zero deaths), Avamere at Three Fountains (52 cases, two deaths), The Weatherly Court Memory Care (11 cases, one death), Farmington Square - Medford (five cases, zero deaths), Prestige Senior Living Arbor Place (two cases, one death) and The Springs at Anna Maria (four cases, zero deaths).

This week’s report showed no active outbreaks at child care facilities or workplaces in Jackson County.

And while there were no active outbreaks at child care facilities in Josephine County, the area did have some workplace ones: Walmart Supercenter (47 cases), Timber Products Co. (31 cases), Fire Mountain Gems (19 cases), Ross Dress for Less (eight cases), The Home Depot (six cases) and Jim Sigel Automotive (six cases).
