COVID-19 cases down last week

OHA weekly report shows a 21% drop in cases across Oregon

The Oregon Health Authority’s weekly coronavirus outbreak report showed 5,063 new COVID-19 cases from Dec. 6-Dec. 12 — a 21% decrease from the previous week.

No active outbreaks were reported for care facilities, senior living communities or congregate living settings in Jackson County.

In Josephine County, several active outbreaks were reported: Ashley Manor - Anique (15 cases and zero deaths); Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (eight cases, zero deaths); Countryside Village (four cases, zero deaths); Suites Assisted Living Community (six cases, zero deaths).

Jackson County reported an outbreak at one child care facility, the Olive Tree PreSchool (10 cases) in the weekly report. No child care places in Josephine County reported an active outbreak.

The following K-12 schools in Jackson and Josephine counties saw recent outbreaks, according to the report:

Hedrick Middle School (three students, zero adults), Helman Elementary (three students, zero adults), Hidden Valley High School (four students, zero adults), Hillside Elementary School (four students, zero adults), Highland Elementary School (one student, zero adults), Hoover Elementary School (two students, one adult), Illinois Valley High School (five students, one adult), Jackson Elementary School (one student, zero adults), Jacksonville Elementary School (one student, zero adults), Jefferson Elementary School (two students, one adult), Jewett Elementary (one student, one adult), Kennedy Elementary School (two students, one adult)

For workplaces, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (163 cases) was the only establishment in Jackson County to have an active outbreak in the weekly report. In Josephine County, only Grants Pass Surgery Center reported an outbreak, with five cases.
