Police arrest two alleged heroin dealers
Police thwarted a drug ring Saturday that would have distributed six ounces of heroin and one ounce of cocaine throughout Southern Oregon.
In an ongoing investigation, the Jackson County Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Hector Aurlio Banderas-Carillo, 21, and Jose Martin Garcia-Valdez, 30, of Portland in the parking lot of the Rogue Valley Mall at 9:40 p.m. Saturday for possession and distribution of a controlled substance. Police seized cocaine and heroin with an estimated value of $50,000 to $60,000, they said.
Police allege the men were delivering the drugs from Portland to the Rogue Valley for local distribution.
Both subjects remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail late Tuesday without bail on an immigration hold.
JACNET worked with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement Agency in the investigation.
