Suspect loose after Phoenix robbery, chase
PHOENIX — Police were searching for a man Saturday evening who robbed the Jack In The Box on Highway 99 in downtown Phoenix.
The man entered the fast food restaurant at around 8 p.m. and demanded cash, said Phoenix police Lt. Derek Bowker.
"He did not display a gun, but the woman working inside the business said he had his hands in his pocket in a manner suggesting he was carrying one," Bowker said.
After snatching the cash, the man fled on foot heading west on Cheryl Street. He eluded arrest among the homes and apartment complexes along the street, Bowker said.
The suspect was described as a short Hispanic male, wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. He did not wear a mask, but the teller told police he had no distinguishing facial features, Bowker said.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Phoenix police at 535-1113.
