Traffic and weather

Jackson County Fire District No. 5 responded to three weather-related crashed on Interstate 5 Friday evening. Two crashed happened around mile 2 in the southbound lanes of I-5 on the Siskiyou Pass, where conditions were wet with spots of ice, officials said. Rain and wet pavement was a factor in a crash at mile 23 between Phoenix and Talent. No one was seriously injured in any of the wrecks, fire district officials said.

The National Weather Service predicts a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10 a.m. today, with gradual clearing by noon. During the afternoon, temperatures are expected to drop, but precipitation will have diminished by then.
