Search on for missing snowboarders
Search teams late Monday were combing the snowy slopes of Mount Ashland in hopes of finding two young snowboarders reported lost Monday afternoon amid another storm front.
The unidentified snowboarders, males aged 20 and 16, left the Mount Ashland Ski Area boundaries and were later reported missing, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
Mount Ashland Ski Patrol members initially began the search, but Jackson County Search and Rescue teams were later called to the scene, deputies said.
Search teams manned two Sno-Cats and some of the search was focused in the Bull Gap Trail area, deputies said.
The search unfolded along snowy slopes with fresh snow falling at times late Monday.
The missing snowboarders were not identified by name Monday by sheriff's deputies.
