Felony arrests

  • Attempted sodomy — Oscar Mendez-Acevedo, 25, of the 1900 block of Prune Street, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Mendez-Acevedo on charges of attempted first-degree sodomy and attempted first-degree sexual abuse. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail while his immigration status was reviewed.
  • Assault — Sunit Sunil Govind, 30, of the 700 block of Dakota Avenue, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Govind on charges of felony fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, harassment and possession of cocaine. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $17,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Gregory Paul Meltzian, 40, of the 23000 block of Highway 62, Shady Cove. Jackson County sheriff's deputies Monday arrested Meltzian on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail.
  • Drugs — Brandy Lynn Moore, 32, no address available. Medford police Monday arrested Moore on charges of possession of three counts of possession of controlled substances and for falling to appear in court on a previous drug charge. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held Monday in lieu of $37,000 bail.
  • Drugs — James David Hobaugh, 25, of Aberdeen, Wash. Jackson County sheriff's deputies Monday arrested Hobaugh on a fugitive warrant out of Washington state. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Sunday without bail.
  • Assault — Annie Marie Schweizer, 19, of the 600 block of Northwood Drive, Medford. Ashland police Sunday arrested Schweizer on charges of assault, criminal mischief, harassment and interfering with a police report. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was later released on her own recognizance.
  • Sexual Abuse — Jose Benedicto Reyes-Joya, 46, no address available. Medford police Sunday arrested Reyes-Joya Sunday night on six counts of first-degree sexual abuse. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail while his immigration status was reviewed.
