Medford police search for man who robbed restaurant

MEDFORD — Police are searching for a man who robbed the Jack in the Box on East Barnett Road Wednesday night in Medford, officials said.

The man, described as a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black bandana and blue jeans, entered the store just after 7 p.m. and confronted an employee, Medford police Sgt. Mark Bell said.

The suspect forced the employee into a back office where he stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled north toward Winco, Bell said.

No gun was used during the heist, Bell said.

Medford detectives were interviewing witnesses and have contacted Winco management to view the store's parking lot cameras for a possible image of the suspect, Bell said.

The Jack in the Box crime happened a day after a man robbed the Liberty Bank branch on East Barnett Road in Medford. Officers are still searching for that suspect, who may be responsible for a California credit union robbery earlier this month, police said.
