Grants Pass teen dies of injuries from crash
A Grants Pass teenager injured in a crash that killed his brother last week has died.
Joshua Daniel Emery, 17, of the 1000 block of Vannoy Creek Road, was rushed to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford after the Thursday morning crash, but died Sunday as a result of his injuries, the Josephine County Sheriff's Department reported today.
He was the passenger in a car driven by his 19-year-old brother, Silas Benjamin Emery, who died when the car struck a utility pole on Saratoga Way in Grants Pass, the Sheriff's Department said.
Officials said Silas Emery lost control of his car and it left the road and slammed into a power pole at a high rate of speed about 8:45 a.m. Jan. 22.
