Crime report

Fraud — 500 block of Stevens Street, Medford. Medford police Wednesday took a report in which checks were written on a closed bank account. The fraud was valued at $1,139.

Felony arrests

  • Identity theft — Jami Rae Mims, 30, of the 200 block of First Street, Medford. Medford police Wednesday added six counts of identity theft, six counts of credit card fraud, two counts of second-degree theft and attempted second-degree theft against Mims. She remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $65,000 bail.
  • Theft — Thomas Scott White, 38, of the 500 block of Hemlock Avenue, Central Point. White appeared Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with first-degree theft. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance.
  • Drugs — Cristobal Cortez-Cortez, 31, of the 400 block of Amos Road, Talent. Phoenix police Wednesday arrested Cortez-Cortez on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. In addition, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents charged him with suspicion of being in the country illegally. He was lodged in jail without bail.
