Felony arrests

  • Hit and run — Joshua Thomas Rodgers, 35, no address available. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies Monday arrested Rodgers on a fugitive warrant out of California, as well as driving under the influence of intoxicants, endangering the welfare of another, furnishing false information to police, and hit-and-run driving. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail.
  • Assault — James Charles Orrick, 50, no address available. Medford police Monday arrested Orrick on charges of assault on a police officer, being a felon in possession of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon, harassment and three counts of resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday without bail on an out-of-county warrant.
  • Theft — William Daniel Ternan, 25, no address available. Medford police Monday arrested Ternan on a charge of first-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Jessie Lee Belanger, 26, of the 1400 block of Morrow Road, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Belanger on charges of possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended, and for violating the condition of her probation from a previous burglary conviction. She was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held without bail.
  • Assault — Steven Robert Croot, 47, no address available. Phoenix police Monday arrested Croot on charges of second-degree assault, driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. He was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being on more than $1 million bail.

Crime reports

  • Theft — 3700 block of Creek View Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report at 8:23 a.m. Monday of the theft of a plasma television and damage to a door. The loss was valued at $1,750.
  • Burglary — 3800 block of Crater Lake Highway, Medford. Medford police took at report at 9:09 a.m. Monday of a burglary to a business from which all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $37,000.
