Felony arrests

  • Drugs — Charles Sherman Hungerford, 42, of the 800 block of Bennett Avenue, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Hungerford on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Christopher Lee McNew, 22, of the 100 block of Perrydale Avenue, Medford. McNew made his initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of possession of heroin and illegal possession of prescription drugs. He was booked Monday in the Jackson County Jail and released.
  • Identity theft — Melanie Renee Love, 28, of the 2300 block of Perri Place, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Love on nine counts each of identity theft and credit-card fraud as well as four counts each of second-degree theft and third-degree theft. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held Monday in lieu of $102,000 bail.
  • Burglary — Tyson Christian Deringer, 24, no address available. Medford police Monday arrested Deringer on charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree theft. He was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Crime reports

  • Vehicle theft — 2400 block of North Pacific Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report at 11:58 a.m. Monday of a theft of a 2007 white Ford U-Haul truck. The loss was valued at $20,000.
  • Burglary — 1900 block of Camellia Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report at 12:03 p.m. of a burglary of a residence from which a Vezio flat-screen television and a gaming system were stolen. The loss was valued at $1,215.
